The BMT Values Programme
The BMT Values Programme, is a groundbreaking initiative within Black Men Teach dedicated to revolutionising the educational experience for black boys. Beyond the confines of traditional academics, our program is designed to cultivate a holistic environment. Through mentorship, positive masculinity, and the vibrant celebration of ‘Black Boy Joy,’ we not only challenge stereotypes, but actively celebrate the remarkable successes of black boys in both education and society.
Embark on a transformative journey with us as we explore key modules focusing on identity, community, and personal development. The BMT Values Programme transcends being a mere initiative; it is a dynamic movement committed to inspiring enduring change. By empowering black boys to envision and achieve a future filled with limitless possibilities, we are redefining narratives and shaping a new era in education.

Duration: 7 weeks / 14 weeks
The TeachThrive Programme
The BMT TeachThrive Programme is a transformative journey dedicated to empowering black educators by addressing their unique challenges. This 10-month initiative offers tailored mentoring, comprehensive professional development sessions (CPD), and networking opportunities. Participants engage in monthly mentor meetings, group CPD sessions, career development workshops, and insightful shadow days, fostering both personal growth and career progression.
The holistic approach of the programme is designed to create a vibrant community of support and empowerment, enhancing the retention of black educators and cultivating a generation of resilient educational leaders. By equipping black educators with essential skills and support, BMT TeachThrive aims to not only address immediate challenges, but also contribute to long-term solutions for creating a more inclusive and thriving educational environment.

The Bridge Mentorship Programme
The Bridge Mentoring Programme, delivered by Black Men Teach, is an empowering initiative designed for young boys from African and Caribbean backgrounds in Years 10 to 13.
This programme is dedicated to redefining narratives and nurturing holistic development in these students. Key highlights include monthly virtual group mentoring sessions, providing regular guidance and support from experienced mentors; tailored academic support to enhance educational achievement and success; work experience opportunities offering practical exposure to various professional environments; and engaging trips and social events that encourage social interaction, cultural enrichment, and personal growth.
By participating in the Bridge Mentoring Programme, students gain access to a supportive community that champions their academic, personal, and professional development. The programme aims to equip them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive and make meaningful contributions to society.
Recommendation: Y10 – Y13
